The Africa Internet Summit 2026 (AIS’26), taking place 22–26 June 2026 in Kenya, is one of the most important gatherings for Africa’s Internet community. It brings together the people and institutions shaping the continent’s digital future, including network operators, regulators, policymakers, academics, technical experts, and industry leaders.
AIS’26 is hosted by TESPOK and organised by AFRINIC and AfNOG in partnership with other AF* organisations.

Their arrival reflects continued confidence in AFRINIC and the importance of a strong and growing Internet community across Africa and the Indian Ocean region.

AFRINIC has received a new allocation of Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs), ranging from AS329728 to AS330751, from IANA—an important development for the region’s Internet community.
This new block ensures that ASN resources remain readily available to support your network’s growth, whether you are expanding infrastructure, scaling services, or strengthening routing capabilities. Reliable access to ASNs is essential for maintaining efficient, resilient, and future-ready operations.
Beyond individual networks, this allocation also reinforces the continued development and stability of Internet infrastructure across the AFRINIC service region.
The new ASN range has been fully integrated into the IANA registry, AFRINIC’s inventory, and is now reflected on the AFRINIC website.
Running from 7 to 30 April 2026, the “Zero to IPv6 Certified in 21 Days” is a cohort-based programme designed to equip engineers with practical IPv6 skills in just three weeks.
This training covers key areas, including IPv6 foundations, addressing plans, neighbour discovery, configuration, routing, and transition mechanisms, culminating in a closing event and scholarship announcements.

Despite these constraints, essential services continue, with active steps taken to strengthen sustainable governance. Members are encouraged to stay engaged and supportive as AFRINIC works toward long-term stability and resolution.
